scholarships will help you understand what lacrosse scholarships consist of.
Lacrosse scholarships explained
Lacrosse
Scholarship - When is the best time
?
The best time to go
to the USA with a sport scholarship is right after graduation from high
school or up to two years after. Only athletes ages 18 - 24 can compete
within the college leagues. Any older and you will be looking at competing
in the NAIA. Coaches are increasingly committing to younger athletes as this
gives them the opportunity to work with the athletes for a longer period of
time. It is also possible to go to the USA for one, two, three or four years
it depends if you wish to seek a bachelor degree from you time there. We
would recommend going to America as early as possible because this will give
you the best chance of gaining a sports scholarship and turning professional
after college.
Lacrosse
scholarship -
How good do you have to be
?
Athletic lacrosse scholarships for
lacrosse
can be achieved if you are at the right level. For
good
lacrosse players on the level of the Division I
the chances to receive a full scholarship are relatively high if you know
whom to contact.
In order to gain the
opportunities of your profile and thus receive higher scholarship offers, it
is important that you try to participate more in national tournaments in the
time prior to starting U.S college. This will show college coaches that you
are able to compete at a high level
If you are competing
at national level then you have a great chance of receiving a 100% sports
scholarship. Coaches will also look at an athlete’s potential, it’s a vital
aspect, as coaches know from experience that even moderate athletic
performance can be boosted immensely with their intensive training methods.
A college recruitment coach will look at a sport CV or the athlete,
photographs, video and our staff advice regarding the athletes ability.

Lacrosse training on a lacrosse scholarship program
If you gain a
lacrosse scholarship you will be expected to practice with the team for
around 3 hours a day 5 times a week. This would just consist of lacrosse
training and then you would still be expected to take part in additional
strength and conditioning training. If you feel you are currently lacking
strength in muscle and size then don’t worry. Athletes USA works with
Maximuscle a leading sports nutrition brand that supplies our athletes with
leading sports nutrition products and information on how to reach you
potential in the gym.
Some
lacrosse
coaches are paid according to the successes or
performances of their current team or past teams,
lacrosse
practice can seem tough to international because you
may not be used to the hard workouts and training. This hard training often
allows
lacrosse athletes to reach previously
unattained levels of fitness and performance while playing at college.
The
lacrosse season
The
lacrosse
season always begins in winter (Fall Term/ August). If
you are looking to join a
lacrosse
college team you need to be signed to the college team
around a year before.
